We collect as little as we need to run Editr. This page explains what that is, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID when you sign in with Google. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Plan and usage: your plan, subscription status and how many seconds you have transcribed each month.
- Plugin licences: your licence key and, for each device you activate, a device name, operating system, IP address and the time it was last seen.
- Files you upload: videos, audio and caption files, kept for 24 hours on the Free plan and 7 days on paid plans, then deleted automatically.
- Orders: what you bought, the amount, and the payment reference. Card details are entered on our payment provider's page; we never receive them.
- Affiliate and referral data: the referral code you arrived with and, for affiliates, the details they give us.
- Browser storage: small items on your device, described in our Cookie Policy.
Why we use it
To sign you in, provide and secure the Service, enforce plan and device limits, process payments and issue licence keys, pay affiliates, answer support requests, and prevent fraud and abuse. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your uploaded content to train AI models.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run Editr for us: Google (Firebase sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting, database and file storage) and Dodo Payments (payments and tax). They process data on our instructions and under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Projects and uploaded files: 24 hours (Free) or 7 days (paid). Account, licence and order records: while your account exists and as long as the law requires us to keep financial records. When you delete your account we remove your profile, licences, devices and uploads; payment records are kept for accounting and legal reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to how we use it, by emailing hello@tryeditr.com. If you are in the EU, UK or India you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Connections use HTTPS, sign-in tokens are verified on our servers on every request, and access to admin tools is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Google account password and two-step verification.
Children
Editr is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you by email if the change is significant.
